About Marriage in the Episcopal Church

God bless you as you and your future spouse make plans for a life together! If you are looking to prepare spiritually for marriage, with the support of a Christian faith community, we invite you to attend services at Christ Episcopal Church and speak to our rector, The Rev. Celeste O. Cox, about your desire to be married.

The Episcopal Church teaches that Christian Marriage is a three-way relationship, in which the husband and wife acknoweldge and commit themselves to God as well as to each other. They come to the Church seeking God's help in fulfilling the vows they make. In their love for each other, a couple gives to the world an example of the faithful, self-giving love of God in Jesus Christ. Therefore, their union is considered a Sacrament -- a holy sign through which God works.

At Christ Church, we offer a supportive premarital preparation program which includes a series of discussions with our rector, attendance at worship, and a short-term educational program designed for engaged couples.

We cordially invite you to attend one of our services (Sundays 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM; Wednesdays 12:10 PM). Identify yourself to Pastor Celeste Cox and let her know you would like to know more about premarital preparation in the Episcopal Church.
