The Vestry is charged with the management of our parish's temporal affairs. Vestry meetings are held on the second Monday of each month in the parish hall common room. They are, of course, open to all members of the parish. Persons desiring to make a presentation to the Vestry are asked to see the Rector or the Senior Warden with a request to be placed on the meeting agenda.
But Vestry meetings are not the only place to contact the Vestry! Each Vestry member is anxious to hear about what parishioners are thinking, what their concerns are, what suggestions they have for improvements to what goes on at Christ Church, and what things need to be fixed that aren't working as well as they should. And they appreciate a pat on the back ocassionally when someone feels good about how things are going. Vestry members can be identified by the small Vestry pins they wear, or just by their wide smiles! They are anxious to hear from you.
Our Vestry members serve three year terms. Normally a third of the Vestry is elected anew at the annual Parish Meeting in early January, the only exception being when another member may be needed to fulfill the unexpired term of a departed vestry person. The Senior and Junior Wardens are elected from among its members by each newly constituted Vestry on its first meeting after the annual elections. The Wardens serve one year terms, but may be re-elected.
